What's Happening at TCE March 2nd-6th

Happy Tuesday All! I will be using this blog to post information about things that are happening in our building weekly. This will also be a great place for you to give us positive feedback or offer suggestions as to how we might better serve the needs of our students and you, the family members. So, please take the time to communicate with us.

Calendar of Events:

This of course is Read Across America Week when we celebrate reading and the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The following are ways we are having students show their love and support of reaidng this week:

Monday: Pajama or wacky dress day

Tuesday: Stripes & 4th/5th Grade Field Trip to Olive Hill Historical Society to view a play.

Wednesday: Wacky hair or crazy eye wear

Thursday: Hats or a mustache

Friday: Dress as your favorite book character & PTO Movie Night @ 5pm.

We are also having guest readers everyday.

Student Celebrations:

  • Our overall attendance was over 95% for the past couple of months, with Mrs. Flannery's class having the best attendance at 96%.

  • TCE Academic Team came in 2nd place overall at the District Governor's Cup Competition last weekend. They will be competing in regionals next week.

  • Over 80% of students are mastering the learning targets for thier English and Language Arts and Math assessments the first time they are given.

Upcoming Events:

  • March 4-20 - 3rd-5th Grade Student Surveys

  • March 16-20 DEA Testing K-5

  • March 17 SBDM meeting @ 3:30

We Need You:

We are always looking for parents or community members who are interested in volunteering for various school activities. If you are interested, please give Debbie Gee a call in our Family Resource Center to get your background check and training started.

We are looking for a parent who is willing to serve on our budget committee. Please contact me, Mrs. Justice, if you would like to help us priortize our budge needs for this coming school year.
